February with the Shambhala Meditation Group of Troy

Feb. 4 is sitting with optional dinner out after the session. As usual, we’ll make our dining plan on the spot.

Feb. 11 we will have Snack Salon (or if you prefer German, Snack Salon). We’ll have some basic snacks available as an excuse to enjoy each other’s company. If you are inspired, feel free to bring something to share.

Feb. 18 we will play 3 short talks by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche from his teaching “The Awesome Mind, Meditation and the Shambhala Path.”

Feb. 25 we will be reading from The Shambhala Principle, by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

Coming up in March, we will hold our annual Group meeting. This will be a pot-luck, as food seems to never be far from an official Shambhala event. We will announce the final meeting date as March approaches.

We have meditation instructors available who can meet you to discuss your practice. The simple practice of meditation can be a slippery thing, and reflecting on your experience with an instructor can be very informative. It is free of charge. Please contact us if you are interested.

During these winter months, it has seemed that people are hibernating a bit. But it’s not that cold out. Get bundled up and head on over. Hot or cold, sitting is the same as it ever was. And if it has been a long time since you’ve joined us, sitting is the same as it ever was. We hope to see you there!
