Troy Shambhala in Winter

Dear Troy Shambhala,

The year of the Wood Sheep is winding down, so if you’ve been noticing a heavy karmic load lately, you are not alone. Come take a load off. Sitting each Tuesday in February is from 6:30-7:30 PM, as usual. And do join us for the following extras after sitting:

February 2: Group dinner in downtown Troy

February 9: Shambhala Day Celebration – Year of the Fire Monkey – Shambhala Day is when we observe the passing of another lunar year. It is traditional to celebrate by gathering together and connecting with our richness and brilliance, reaffirming our intentions for the new year.

Beginning at 6:30PM (please be prompt), we will practice The Shambhala Sadhana, a profound and simple practice given by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche that confidently proclaims the fundamental richness of all beings and society. Followed by the Sakyong’s Shambhala Day address to the sangha and a snacky tea party-annual-group-meeting combo. Bring some food or drink to share if you’re inspired!

February 16: A video or audio teaching from the Shambhala Buddhist tradition (TBD).

February 23: Group Book Reading – The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, by Chögyam Trungpa.

See you!
