Troy Shambhala in February

Dear Troy Shambhala,

The Year of the Fire Monkey is winding down, fading, and covered in frost. This is considered a tricky time of year, when we are subject to turmoil and discouragement. Let’s perk up and meet the Year of the Fire Bird with confidence! Sitting each Tuesday in February is from 6:30-7:30 PM, as usual. And do join us for the following extras after sitting:

Feb 7: Group dinner in downtown Troy
—————————————

Feb 14: Snack Salon – Feel free to bring something to share! Food, Conversation, and Meditation is the Sakyong’s prescription. We can do all of that in one shot!
—————————————

Feb 21: Audio or Video teaching from the Shambhala Buddhist tradition
—————————————

Feb 28: Shambhala Day Celebration: 6:30PM – Year of the Fire Bird – Shambhala Day is when we observe the passing of another lunar year according to the Tibetan calendar. It is traditional to celebrate by gathering together and connecting to our richness and brilliance, reaffirming our intentions for the new year. This is also the time when members of the Shambhala community are encouraged to make a financial donation to Shambhala in order to help support the activities of our worldwide mandala.

We will practice The Shambhala Sadhana, a profound practice given by the Sakyong that confidently proclaims the fundamental richness of all beings and society. Then we will then listen to the Sakyong’s Shambhala Day address to the sangha, followed by a good dose of snacks. Feel free to bring something to share.
