Troy Shambhala in April

Dear Troy Shambhala,

Spring is eager to emerge from the long winter, and its haphazard beginnings are becoming visible. Let’s see what comes up. Sitting each Thursday in April is from 6:30-7:30 PM, as usual. And do join us for the following extras after sitting:

April 4: Parinirvana Day: Celebrating Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche – This will replace our usual sitting. We invite you all to observe the 32nd anniversary of the parinirvana of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche by practicing the Sadhana of Mahamudra. The sadhana is one of the first practices that the Vidyadhara encouraged his students to do when he taught in the West. Afterward we plan to have a group dinner in downtown Troy (optional).

April 11: Snack Salon – Food, Conversation, and Meditation is the order for the day. We can do all of that in one shot! Feel free to bring something to share!
—————————————

April 18: Book Study – Shambhala: Sacred Path of the Warrior by Chögyam Trungpa – Chapters FOUR & FIVE. On third Thursdays in 2019, we study SSPW as a group. Perhaps this text has been sitting on your shelf for a while; now is a great opportunity to crack it open. Read chapters 4 and 5 ahead of time and we will discuss it after sitting. Texts are available for purchase.

April 25: Pema Time – The last Thursday of each month is reserved to hear from Pema Chödrön. We’ll read a chapter from one of her phenomenal texts or listen to a short teaching.

See you!
