The sadhana is one of the first practices that the Vidyadhara encouraged his students to do when he taught in the West. Afterward we plan to have a group dinner in downtown Troy (optional).

February 9: Shambhala Day Celebration – Year of the Fire Monkey – Shambhala Day is when we observe the passing of another lunar year. It is traditional to celebrate by gathering together and connecting with our richness and brilliance, reaffirming our intentions for the new year.

Beginning at 6:30PM (please be prompt), we will practice The Shambhala Sadhana, a profound and simple practice given by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche that confidently proclaims the fundamental richness of all beings and society. Followed by the Sakyong’s Shambhala Day address to the sangha and a snacky tea party-annual-group-meeting combo. Bring some food or drink to share if you’re inspired!
